What's Included in a Tune-Up
Air Conditioner
- Clean condenser coil
- Inspect evaporator coil
- Inspect blower wheels
- Check refrigerant charge
- Inspect belts & pulleys; adjust as necessary
- Lubricate motors & bearings
- Check and calibrate thermostat
- Inspect and test safety controls
- Inspect and clean motors
- Test capacitors
- Check condensate drain
- Check crankcase heater operation
- Inspect relays and contactors
- Inspect unit disconnect
- Inspect unit wiring; tighten loose connections
- Record temperatures and pressures
- Check ductwork for leaks and proper insulation
Heater
- Inspect heat exchanger
- Inspect burners
- Check thermocouple; replace if necessary
- Check fan switch; adjust as necessary
- Check pilot light; adjust as necessary
